  1. This smell like incoming shenanigans.

    1. Oh yeah. In Tara’s favour, she DOES have Steven with her to keep an eye on Sarah…

  2. Michael Steamweed

Poor Tara. She’s going to need all the coffee and/or hot chocolate.

    1. Why is there an Or in there?

      1. Michael Steamweed

I’m not certain of her caffeine needs. Hells, she might even be a (gasp; shudder) tea drinker.

        1. Coffee is Bean Tea

  3. Noah and Sarah’s relationship can be summarized as “Partners in Crime” and I am here for it.

  4. Tara’s Dad is a wise man.

  5. Noah and Sarah make a cute couple (? Partnership? Revenge cult? Whatever it is)

    1. It’s quite established that they are in a queerplatonic relationship and don’t call themselves couple.

  6. geez Mom, at least let her take off her coat and get started on that first glass of eggnog, before putting her to work :}

    1. Michael Steamweed

A first glass of eggnog with appropriate holiday spirit(s) in it.

  7. Noah and Sarah are here. I am all the way in. Break out the popcorn and let the insanity commence!

  8. Gonna need that egg now spiked this holiday.

  9. And it’s her fault. She introduced them.

  10. I assume Siobhan is Tara’s mother and Gary is her father.

  11. “Rerolled those bad boys once.” What does that mean?

    1. He’s referring to his pronouns. He already changed them once when he came out as trans so in RPG parlance he rerolled his pronouns.

Basically he’s just clarifying that Gary’s use of “they” refers to Noah and Sarah and that he hasn’t switched to using they/them pronouns.

  12. “Do I even *have* a family of my own? Who knows!”

Glad to have you here, Sarah. After recent events, will be interesting to see how she behaves without Steven keeping an eye on things.

    1. …*without* Steven? The Master of Borf is right there in panel 1!

  13. Witch of many Jobs

Well, time to find out just how good Steven is as an emotional support animal and how much rum you can put into egg nog until it stops tasting of eggs.

  14. Just now realizing that Tara’s mother and my mother have the same name. Siobhan isn’t very common.

  15. Perpetually tired ostrich

If Bev calls Steven, will he appear near her, or does only Tara have that power?

  16. Two thoughts:
    1. I distinctly remember another Christmas story where Noah invited himself to Beverly and Tara’s new home for Christmas and promised “to be out ouf their hair by New Year’s” (when he met Sarah the first time). So three days should be less traumatic – unless Tara expects that their potential for mischief has grown since then 😉
    2. Maybe Tara’s parents are so welcoming of Sarah because her and Noah’s relationship is their only (at least theoretical) hope to get grandchildren. Tara’s and Beverly’s love may be grand and wondrous, but it won’t get either of them pregnant…

    1. 1. Oh, their potential sure has grown.
      2. Maybe you miss the little detail that Noah is trans. So yeah, we have a total of 4 people and 0 dicks. XD

    2. Noah is trans, so they wouldn’t have any luck either

      1. That’s why I said “theoretical” – his body looked male at that one strip where he dove into a lake wearing only swimming trunks, and his character bio lists him as “Asexual”. For me, that means: “he has the necessary tools but chooses not to use them” (which is fine, live and let live).

        1. You’re missing a point: HE is a trans. That means female to male. That means he don’t have the “necessary tools” to make Sarah pregnant to begin with.

  17. I appreciate the reference to Family Gathering #4

  18. Well, I’m indeed quite curious abaut Sarah’s family; her middle and last names are both very Italians, if she’s actually on of us that would add even more spicy…

  19. To summarize:

Noah brought a +1 so for once he gets the guest couple bedroom and Tara is delegated to the bedroom equivalent of the kid’s table.

  20. What does “rerolled those bad boys” mean?

    1. swapped his pronouns! Noah’s trans
