It *is* universal. Basically it’s because the perverse incentives in software development have resulted in a business model where *making the product good* stops being the important goal.
For example, one perverse incentive is that it is rare for a corporate customer to have the person who controls the budget be someone who actually has to use the tool. So if you can pitch something to the budget person and get a contract signed, individual worker complaints are less likely to result in losing the account.
Another one is moving to subscription models: it absolutely might be the thing that keeps food on your table as an indie or small company, but at some point the “if our stuff becomes so important to the customer’s workflow, then we can pretty much raise prices however we like as long as it is less than the expense of switching to an entirely different system” takes over (see: Adobe)
just wondering, how do i get a profile pic up?

“Nothing, the software just sucks ass.”
True in every job I’ve ever had.

The tech issues remind me of my work. And the last four places I worked at before that. This seems to be a universal issue

I forget the details but look up “Gravatar,” that’s where the profile images get pulled from.
the Lurker
Create a Gravitar account and it will pull from that as long as you use the same email to comment
Good for Thought
Are you really a business unless your business-specific software is shit?
