I don’t think we need a Tara/Beverly conflict like this. This is a fun comic, doesn’t need some weird “Beverly is sick of Tara’s insatiable sex drive” strife.
I think this is the first time Bev and Steven have been shown interacting since he first scared her with his sudden appearance on the second day he lived with them in “Getting a Dog #5”. Tara was always the one petting him and holding his leash until now.
I might be wrong, but I think that Beverly might be sad because she wanted to go camping with Tara. I think she was looking forward to sleeping with Tara in a tent under the stars, and renting a cabin kind of defeats the purpose of their trip.
I think it’s more the need to rent a cabin, due to the too high heat, that make her sad. As everyone passing time with the person she love, she wanted that trip to be perfect, especially since it’s not just a trip, but her sharing a part of her life. And it haven’t really started in the good way.
Summer is the wrong time of the year for backpacking and camping. Late fall and early spring is better. No bugs and cool weather. Cozy nights by a fire.

Steven is wise and strong in the ways of the Light Side of the Borf.

I highly doubt that is the issue here.

What’s wrong? I’m getting bad vibes from this.

I’m hoping it just “she’s not enjoying herself but putting on a brave face” and not “secret bucket list time, illness we don’t yet know about” stuff.

That’s my worry.

When it comes to Steven, “perceptive little guy” *may* be in the running for understatement of the century…
