  1. Finally the rice cooker is here! Best gift ever as Bev has been told so

  2. I always struggled to make rice, as did my mother. Imagine my surprise when my girlfriend hauled out this pot of magic, filled it, and hit one button (it only HAD one) and absolutely perfect rice came out.

    She’s my wife now.

  3. The lesson? Never doubt Dee.

  4. Those are some amazing rice cookers. I love mine.

  5. One year I was banging my head over a gift for my wife, when I remembered that our kettle was getting kind of old so I got an electric kettle, but still felt horrible because it was just an appliance. Let me tell you, that’s the most used appliance in the house. She’s a tea drinker, so it was perfect.

  6. ZOJIRUSHI my beloved. Those things are like magic. You can try a regular cheap rice maker and it… Makes some rice. Zojirushi? Best rice you’ll ever have in your life. And it sings a cute little tune at you when it’s done.

It also keeps the rice PRISTINE for hours.

  7. Tara’s line in panel three killed me.

  8. Now I can face the New Year.

  9. For the record. Zojirushi rice cookers are hilariously overpriced

  10. I can totally relate.. A ricecooker was the best present I have ever given someone as well. Do not doubt the rice cooker!

  11. But how could a shrimp operate such a complicated machine?

  12. Baby elephant brand rice cooker? Fuiyoh!!!

  13. Witch of many Jobs

As somebody who loves rice, that is an awesome present.

  14. Rice cookers are awesome. They can also make oatmeal and those giant Japanese pancakes!

  15. Dee was right on both counts. And he’ll ya rice maker.

  16. may im in too, the rice machine also change my life

  17. I love this story so so much. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ❤️❤️❤️

  18. Zojirushi, good choice

  19. omg yes rice cookerrrrrrrrr

  20. Man Nort, you’ve really nailed that subtle look of complete love that Beverly gives Tara. These last couple of chapters have been so endearing ❤

  21. Rice cookers: about as useful as a vermicelli winder. What’s wrong with a plain old saucepan?

  22. Last year’s model. It doesn’t use ChatGPT-enhanced fuzzy logic

  23. Something about that emphasis on “makes” makes me think she thinks it *creates* rice.

  24. I wonder what they got the dog.

  25. Ayo got that Zojirushi even!

  26. Lmao, that reaction xD

  27. I couldn’t live without mine, seriously . It takes actual hours off the cooking time of my beans and rice dinners.

  28. And it even plays a little song when it’s done! Japan is amazing, innit?

  29. continent telecom

It is excellent idea. I support you.

  30. virtual local numbers

    Anything!

  31. It is reserve

  32. I think, that you are not right. I am assured. Let’s discuss it. Write to me in PM, we will communicate.

  33. I refused to buy my Filipino wife a rice cooker in 1987 as it was $90 ($244 in 2024) and I felt we could not afford it as newlyweds in the USA. She blackened a quarter inch of rice in the bottom of the saucepan later that day and I suddenly realized we could, in fact, afford a rice cooker.

  34. Unfortunately, as a half-Asian, I will already be bringing a rice cooker to the relationship…

  35. Charming phrase

  36. Rice cookers are pretty cool. I’m a fan.
