I’ve been reading since pretty much day 1 back when this was only on twitter and the “no boobs, this comic has changed” criticism seems very strange to me in that regard. To me at least in never seemed like a nsfw type comic. It was always sort of silly comedy with occasional adult themes and over time that’s slowly pivoted to more family slice of life as Tara and Bev grow into full adults and out of their young adult dating phase. It all makes sense to me.
I also think even in a usually very lgbt friendly space like webcomics it’s still pretty rare to see gay couples just being happy and functioning in life. That’s just nice to read.
The whole point of casual nudity is that it’s CASUAL. It happens when it happens, and it doesn’t when it’s not called for. If you want to look at boobs, there are plenty of places to do so. This comic HAS boobs, but it’s not ABOUT boobs. People just get so entitled, it makes me perfectly understand why some artists have emphatic “I will NEVER draw anything NSFW” just to keep those sorts away.

Honestly? The issue isn’t nudity or not, it’s when some of the comics obviously censored it. Like, I’m never thinking ‘I wanna see the tits’ but when there’s a really obvious censor it takes me out of the story. It’s jarring.
Also, I’ve seen more comments complaining about people complaining about it than actual complaints about it. But I’m not on twitter if it’s all on there. So maybe people should just… not be on twitter? Just seems like a better solution for everyone.

Totally agree and so well put. It is definitely in the camp of “Boobs are totally normal and just part of life” thing and I titally applaud that and value it. I love this webcomic so much. ♥
TBF, I found myself thinking that not too long ago when there was obvious avoiding of them in a place where they would have been normal to show, but it wasn’t criticism, just an observation.
Yes, this comic has changed over time (as most things in this world do), but change is not a bad thing. I’m still here looking forward to each new one to see the story unfold.
Actually I’d have doubts on that. Sure, on a first glance it might seem like that, daughter’s a lesbian, or at least in a lesbian relationship, and the son is trans in a… I’m not sure what the right words are to describe what he and Sarah got going. Is platonic the right word? But you get the point.
However, if we look back at the babysitting chapter, I think the chance of them eventually adopting are not low
