From my point of view it’s important because it prove that not only she care about him, but he’s also what come first in her mind when she, precisely, don’t have all her mind.
I’m definitely leaning towards her being at least part succubus. She’s obsessed with sex, she has pointy teeth, and she can understand Steven. The only other characters we’ve seen with those qualities are the other succubi.
I do hope that we get them coming to some clarity about what they *are* to each other.
I mean, c’mon, they’re live-in partners. They don’t need sex for that. They already are intimate and affectionate without that.
but we KNOW what they are to each other – they’re best friends (partners in crime) who happen to share a bed, platonically – what more is there to know?
their intimacy is all hugs, cuddles and foot rubs, nothing sexual between them at all
I’d love to have this kind of relationship with someone, but nobody would put up with my snoring 🤪 (my ex used to wake me 4-5 times per night as I was keeping her awake)
I think what Titania Bird Keil is getting at is that their relationship has every measure of a serious one without sex. Although even that may not be entirely true. Asexual merely means lack of sexual attraction not that they couldn’t enjoy or have sex with each other. ( I know no one mentioned this)
As a counter argument though it is possible for best friends to have sex without transitioning into anything more serious.
At some point Noah and Sarah are going to need to have a serious conversation about what they mean to each other.

So far, Noah and Sarah are still convinced that they are just roommates, that now happen to share a bed, but that there’s no love between them. It’s not about sex or whatever, just about acknowledging the true nature of their relation. Whatever if it’s platonic or not, they are “in love”, and soon or later they’ll have to admit this obvious truth.
Counterpoint: Them admitting to loving each other, without the need for sexual interaction, would still be “Platonic” by definition. A pair of people could love each other quite deeply, and not feel the need to have sex.
In “Strange Bedfellows” the specifically explored this and came to an agreement about what each of them wanted from the relationship. They even made charts! And lists!

While I do not think they would move on to a sexual relationship (without alcohol inhibiting their judgement) they may come to understand that they have reached a more “ideal” relationship, and discover their relationship is almost textbook “Platonic” by definition.
