  1. Uh-oh.

  2. Once a century the Eldritch Terriers must celebrate their Ancient Rites:
“It was the Yuletide, that men call Christmas though they know in their hearts it is older than Bethlehem and Babylon, older than Memphis and mankind. It was the Yuletide, and I had come at last to the ancient sea town where my people had dwelt and kept festival in the elder time when festival was forbidden; where also they had commanded their sons to keep festival once every century, that the memory of primal secrets might not be forgotten….
…. Then beyond the hill’s crest I saw Kingsport outspread frostily in the gloaming; snowy Kingsport with its ancient vanes and steeples, ridgepoles and chimney-pots, wharves and small bridges, willow-trees and graveyards; endless labyrinths of steep, narrow, crooked streets, and dizzy church-crowned central peak that time durst not touch; ceaseless mazes of colonial houses piled and scattered at all angles and levels like a child’s disordered blocks;” — The Festival HP Lovecraft

  3. I don’t think he’s wrong.

  4. I don’t like where this is going…

Is Gary about to fall down that cliff?

    1. a reader among thousands

No, I really doubt. It’s more Steven who took him for a long run to let Tara and Noah have the time to deal with their mom.

  5. Steven is in on it you see.

  6. Gary and Steven want no part of whats going on down there

    1. They’re both smart.

  7. great drawing in this one Nort! plot is also great as always 😉

  8. Love how each frame is a zoom out from the last. It’s a really cool idea

  9. Steven is protecting Gary from… a scheme.

  10. Steven should have a coat on. Terriers don’t usually have the second coat to keep them warm.

    1. while this is good and true advice, in this case i feel that Steven can pop off to warm up any time Gary looks away…

  11. I choose to believe that Tara and Bev are talking about their strap-on.
I will not be accepting corrections at this time.

  12. Dad smells the scheme in the air and is avoiding it as much as possible.
Or Steven’s keeping him out of the line of fire.

  13. If Tara calls out to Steven, will he appear at her feet with or without Gary? Or will Seven stay put this time?

  14. I like to imagine that Steven and Gary had a magical holiday adventure off-screen.

  15. Witch of many Jobs

Somehow Gary and Steven walked into the next county over.

  16. Dudes are just in their happy place. They’ll be home for dinner.

  17. Are they going to break their spare bed so mum has to sleep next door? That would be sneaky.

    1. Also the guilty look on Gary’s face is perfect
