Tara is living in the past. Serial Killers are extinct. Now that we all have smart phones, its too easy to get caught. So she doesn’t need to worry about random dudes splitting her head open with an axe.
I can see how it cuts down on serial killers. They would have to keep to the dead zones. The pickings tend to be slim and people well-armed our there. There’s a dead patch that extends about 40 miles south of me. No phone, text, or Internet access. The number of weird stores out there is staggering. A couple shops simply have “Knives!!” up on their signs. Stop and think what sort of local demand there must be just for edged weapons to keep the place in business. I’m curious, but not sure I have the firepower to risk it.
