Hee! I mean, this plotline has a bit of a feel of “started setting this up 3-5 years ago when I decided the annual halloween comics should be going somewhere and have a backstory.” But also? It feels like it was set up 3-5 years ago, rather than improvised this year, which gives it several legs up on some commercial series (or comic series after an editor change) I could name.
Which is, frankly, really impressive in a webcomic, a medium where creators’ lives often completely change multiple times between the first strip of a series and the last.

After going back to the 2023 Halloween Comics, I am really excited to see where this could go. For one thing, we know that they have to beat the witch in order to “severe her link from this world”, but I wonder that means for her connections to the core. I was also expecting Steven to be Bevara for a second I can’t lie.
I love how nonchalant Noah is about this whole thing. Sure, he was part of the shenanigans last year, but giant amalgamation of his sister and Amazonian sister-in-law is a new one for him, and it’s not enough for him to take his hands out of his pockets.
Between growing up with Tara and living wth Sarah, dude has developed an almost zen-like chill.

I’m not surprised. Bevara spent her first appearance being constantly surprised by Tara and Bev’s reactions. Also, this hotel does not have 13 floors, so S&S are somewhere else.
