  1. The bestest of friends.

  2. Bev and Sarah are definitely gonna be bffs

  3. Well nice to see that Bev and Sarah are all in on making sure that these two don’t avoid the talk

  4. It is always helpful to have a spouse who can help you Adult when you are stuck in childhood patterns. Noah and Tara are very lucky that way. And yes, “spouse” even though Sarah and Noah aren’t slapping moist bits together.

    1. I think the fact that they aren’t married is what would disallow the use of spouse for Noah and Sarah. Spouses don’t have to “slap moists bits”, but they do have to refer to husband and/or wife I think.
Personally I’d use significant other (or SO for short), it covers the important parts while being both gender neutral and broad enough to apply the relationships that don’t fit the traditional mold.

      1. Depending on how long they’ve been living together they might actually be considered Common law married pretty soon.

  5. I love Sarah’s confident handling of Steven in the third panel (and of Noah in the second one, and of Beverly in the final one…). And the look in the eyes of the two siblings is priceless: they are both thinking the same thing: “How did I ever manage to be blessed with such a wonderful girl, and what did I do right to make her be willing to spend her whole life with me?!”

  6. Sarah is the best

  7. Awkward sibling talk GO!

  8. Did Steven just threaten to bit Sarah? Or was he just reminding her of the consequences of translating what he says?

    1. a reader among thousands

My guess is that he clearly threatened her. I mean, look at his eyes, he’s suspicious regarding Sarah’s intent.
He consider himself Tara’s protector, and it’s obvious that something is off since she’s sad, almost depressed. But subtleties of humans interaction can probably be hard to read, even for him. So he wanted to stay near to Tara, and by his look in the fourth panel, I guess that what convinced him is more that Beverly agreed, than what Sarah said.

  9. I’m far more interested in what Beverly and Sarah have to say to each other than what Tara and Noah have to say.

  10. Witch of many Jobs

But Steven is the one with the good arguments!

  11. I can’t express how much I love them all and how much I care for these characters.
They are all wonderfull and I can’t wait to see them evolve more.

  12. This is a conversation that has been a long time coming. Tara is going to learn something she always knew but never really learned: that Noah idolizes his sister because she fits an outdated definition of a ‘normal’ person who has their life together and is in a happy marriage, living in a suburban dream home with a white picket fence without a care in the world – as if any of that somehow makes her superior to him. Noah is going to learn something he already kind of knew deep down: that Tara is a big mess of foibles and anxieties and needs, and she doesn’t trust for one second that she has her shit together. They’re both going to learn that they are human beings after all, and they will hug it out, and Tara will take steps to accept Noah’s eccentricities as the harmless fun they’re intended to be, and Noah will learn to relax and realize that he has his shit together as much as anyone else his age does.

  13. I love the way Steven is looking back over his shoulder with concern for Tara. He’s ride-or-die.

  14. Aw Sarah loves Noah
